Workers in many health-related and human services professions have the potential to be exposed to body fluids, particularly blood, and other possibly infectious materials that contain disease-causing microorganisms. Occupational exposure to these pathogens, however, is not limited to workers in the medical field. All who regularly handle soiled laundry or other waste products may also be at risk for exposure.

This course provides essential information about bloodborne pathogens, their sources, the means by which they are transmitted, and the steps that must be taken to safeguard the many workers at risk.
